I hope that everyone who had problems playing the first 2 Bond collections had them addressed by now because Volume 3’s layout and features is consistent with the previous two. All players that received firmware upgrades after October 2008 should be able to play this dwelling.

Here is my evaluation of the modern Bond Blu-ray collection (a work in progress as I’m not fully done with the viewing) – and it’s not unlike my impression of the first 2.

THE GOOD:

- Extraordinary video quality, most likely better than what the audience saw on release date on some of the older movies.

- Lots of extras, most of them worth watching or listening to.

- Pretty, innovative packaging.

THE NOT SO GOOD:

- The sound restoration not as obliging as the video on the early Bonds.

- Some of the ‘extras’ sections would serve from a ‘play all’ option.

- The boxes could be a bit slimmer.

- May require upgrades on obvious players if they haven’t been upgraded since September-October 2008.

The overall impression is of quality, inside and out. The box could be a diminutive smaller but the packaging is shapely. There’s a transparent plastic budge conceal over a solid cardboard box holding a little binder on which the individual movie disks are attached to pages. Each movie comes on one disc holding the movie itself and in extraordinary amount of extras.

The menu interface is well organized and there’s even some humor in labeling. For example, the option that plays the movie is labeled ‘The Mission’ while the historic promotional material is found under ‘The Propaganda’. Depending on which fraction you may be, menu options branch into further sub-menus.

The extras are numerous and, for the most fraction exciting. There are features on the restoration process and we salvage to learn who did what, why and how. Then, we peer contemporary documentaries on the making of the movie and so on. The Goldfinger disc, for example, includes right radio interviews with Sean Connery, 2 major documentaries on ‘the making of’ and ‘the world of’ Goldfinger, about 30 minutes each, unique trailers, shroud tests, an interview with Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore), even a feature on Bond’s Aston Martin. And, amazingly, it all fits on one disc.

The status where some of the older installments present their age is the sound. The audio options include the unusual sound track which, in the older releases is ‘mono’ but all movies approach with DTS-HD Master Audio 24-bit 5.1 surround as the default. The sound wasn’t upgraded and improved to the degree that the recount was but, it’s understandable. Going from mono to 5.1 surround is the equivalent of upgrading from dim and white to full-color 3-D in the world of images. Commentary sound tracks featuring the director and the cast and crew are also included.

When it comes to the video quality, the best that I can say is that you’ve got to peep it to bear it. The restoration of the older movies started with the true unique negative, which is the one reference copy that’s almost never touched. Once the copy was digitized as a 4000 lines resolution digital copy (Bluray is 1080) every frame was reprocessed to eliminate any possible defects from ‘dirty optics’, such as the proverbial hair that we sometimes spy on the older movies to scratches, unpleasant exposure, color brilliance. The restorers’ goal for the destroy result, and this concerns the video only, not the sound quality, was to philosophize what would appear to be a contemporary movie with a 60’s or 70’s theme rather than a 60’s or 70’s movies. In my thought, they succeeded and, surprisingly, the 1964 Goldfinger looks as ample as the 1979 Moonraker.

My overall rating is a solid five-stars. Unbiased about everything in this release is superlative: the physical packaging, the interface fabricate, the extras, the video quality. The sound is not so proper on the older movies but, given the place of sound restoration technologies, I did not feel compelled to grasp a star because the former movies sounded more or less like they did on release date or better.

As a James Bond fan, I’ve owned movies on VHS, Laser Disc, DVD and now Blu-Ray and I can pronounce you Watching then on Blu-Ray is like watching them for the first time. MGM has done a sizable job restoring theese films, the detailing is colossal, I’ve noticed thing in the movies I’ve seen 20 or 30 times. These are a must possess for any collection.

B-horror movie god Bruce “Obnoxious Lifeless” Campbell is the main attraction of this Sci-Fi Pictures current, in which Campbell and Xena: Warrior Princess’ Renee O’Connor star as opposing humans against devious, grotesque aliens hellbent on, what else, annihilation of all mankind. The special effects are about what you would ask from a Sci-Fi Channel unique movie, and were it not for Campbell, this would honest be another forgettable schlock-fest. All in all, Alien Apocalypse is worth checking out for fans of Campbell (and you all know who you are), but if you want to ogle a surprisingly enormous modern film with Bruce, check out the recently released Man With the Screaming Brain, in which Campbell stars and directs as well.

What were the makers of this movie thinking when they gave all the surviving humans really abominable wigs and obvioulsy glued on beards. It is very distracting to the narrative (if there was one) . Basically Bruce and crew have been in cyro sleep for 40 years in place, return to earth to gain it has been infested with buggy aliens with a thing for wood. The crew was in dwelling to do something with a probe that is never explained. I am a big Bruce Campbell fan but this movie was not a favorable B movie at all. It was neither funny nor serious and worst of all was not gripping to study. Xena Warrior Princess’ Renee O’Connor was given second billing on the DVD box but she is really not in the movie very powerful. She is basically there to play the romantic interest for Bruce, the two have big buddy chemistry (as seen on Xena) but zero romantic chemistry. The movie also suffers from a lack of a surviving human character to root for. Renee and Bruce can kick some butt, but all the other characters are pathetic. If you want to ogle a worthy Bruce flix stick with the Corrupt Uninteresting films.

This is a 30-minute exciting film of the biblical chronicle of Joseph. The clay animation is nicely done, and the writers did a pleasant job with the condensation and adaptation of the biblical text–capturing the most valuable parts of the narrative and sticking relatively closely to the biblical story.

I couldn’t succor noticing, though, that Joseph and his youngest brother, Benjamin, were given the fairest skin and the smallest, straightest noses of the twelve brothers. That is, the two “righteous” brothers gape worthy less Semitic than the “dreadful” brothers who sold Joseph into slavery. Because of this, I hesitate to recommend this film for children. But I’ve venerable it in college and high school religion courses and simply drew students’ attention to this deliver.

A lot of the other reviewers seem to have missed a colossal deal of the subtlety to Utena. It’s a very abstract series, with non-linear storytelling and numerous references to Gnostic mythology and other philosophies. It’s a very animated series, but not one for first-time Anime viewers.

I doubt that adolescent girls in general would understand the motivations of the duelists, who fight to bring about the slay of the world. They report poignant heartbreak as a result of living in a world that seems unfair. They fight for the power to control the world around them, while Utena fights to be proper to her ideals.

As for the ‘rose editing’ that appears in the duels, it makes more sense if you conception the duels abstractly. The one whose ideals are correct wins the duels — they’re battles of ideology, not swordfights. The rose symbol in specific appears over Utena when she merges with Dios’s spirit and attains harmony with the embodiment of her ideals. The rose blocks this from concept because this is too abstract and too intimate to characterize, and also because Utena herself does not understand the phenomenon.

Like its predecessor this is another improbable DVD from CPM. It contains the final 6 episodes of the ‘Student Council Saga’ being the first season of this brillant shoujo anime series. The last episode is in fact a summary of the previous ones with dinky set wrapped around it, but definitely an appetizer for things to approach. The disc starts off with the most hilarious episode of the first season (I only say: Elephants!) . However, after this one things originate to become darker when more of the characters’ pasts are revealed in some very peevish flashbacks within the next episodes. This gets almost frighteningly intense when we secure some insights in the psyche of Nanami (student council presidents sister) in episode 3 which I found to be the best one yet. For any serious fan of anime this exhibit is a no-brainer. UTENA has all of animes cliches turned into strengths. It is a wild mixture of slapsick, drama, romance and action with a soundtrack that is unbiased radiant. If you do not completely abominate magical girl/shoujo style anime then give it a try, you’ll surely regain twisted.

Alright that’s what is on all the discs. As I generally do, I liked the graphics on the fold originate container for the discs-nice pictures. As I already said, you can examine in English or Japanese with subtitles.

Then, after this breathtakingly involving fight we’re treated to something special. Shikamaru’s factual breakout episode. He finally gains purpose and something that makes him novel in the series. Not since Rock Lee fighting his heart out against Gaara has a secondary character been so compelling. Shikamaru will hold your imagainations… and if you’re anything like my girlfriend, your hearts too.

Though, throughout the entire episode the main event is constantly teased… Gaara VS Sasuke. You’d contemplate they were maineventing Wrestlemania how they talk it up. And let me teach you… it works! I can’t wait for volume 6 to study this clash of power.

Naruto objective gets better and better.

Hancock (Will Smith) is not your garden variety superhero. He’s more like your garden variety bum. He spends most of his day sleeping on benches and drinking booze. When duty calls, he awakens from his drunken coma, bottle in hand to conclude the wrong-doers. If there’s a lesson to be learned here, it’s not to fight crime drunk because it costs millions in property harm and public outrage. Luckily for Hancock, somebody wants to serve the bad guy. The first half of “Hancock” is chock tubby of outrageous humor and the superhero doing his worst at being the best. It’s thoroughly arresting and will provide plenty of laughs. The second half of “Hancock” is about the superhero in the spotlight, but this time he is depicted as a “lawful” superhero and the public begins to survey him as a definite figure. The second half is what makes or breaks the movie for viewers. Why? Because of the unexpected twist in the residence.

While I won’t scream the residence twist, I will say that it will leave people feeling divided. Some will probably reflect it is incredibly clever and others will own it’s sheer silliness. In my plan, it’s both clever and amusing at the same time. Either diagram you notice at it, “Hancock” is an current movie…the only one of its kind. The only superhero movie that does not have to be strict to a source, i.e. a droll book, to appease fans. It is also extremely appealing. Everything from the CGI to the performances design this movie animated and above all, modern. “Hancock” is definitely a movie worth watching.

I read some reviews when Hancock came out in theatres. Most of them gave it mixed ratings but there were some 3 star ratings like I saw here on Amazon.com. I can’t negate you enough how remarkable I disagree. There have been so many to catch a comedic shot at superhero films but they are usually either Ok or honest listless poor but not this one. Anywho, Hancock is definitely a stout film, so titanic that I could not wait to effect a 5 star rating on it and jabber ya why but first I’ll drawl you what it’s about.

Will Smith stars as John Hancock, a loaner, alcoholic,and gloomy superhero. Of course those are definitely not characteristics you want to witness in the man that has superman like powers like Hancock. The myth goes that Hancock woke up one morning in a hospital, he didn’t know his name, birth date, or if he had any family or friends. By now you can imagine how he got that name of his, a nurse asked him for it and he conception it was his name. He only knew what the doctors told him, that he was hit on the head trying to finish a mugging. Through the years he hasn’t really tried to become a perfect hero or even a generous one at that but he does the minimum.

Hancock wants to be loved but acts as if he doesn’t care and this is when Ray (Jason Bateman) comes in. After being saved by Hancock Ray thinks of a scheme to recreate Hancock to give him what he wants, to be loved by the people. The both of them dwelling out on a mission to do this but this movie is no doubt deeper than the surface. Things come by more risky and the state twists fair enough to become one of the best dramatic comedies about a superhero I have ever seen.

First of all I judge that Will Smith is one of the few actors that could recall a film like this and perform it so righteous. Friendly job by the writers as well for giving it a noble comedic feel but keeping it a small realistic and never going over the edge. Smith did a vast job, he made you mediate that Hancock could actually be loyal and he was hilarious doing it but smooth did enormous with the dramatic scenes. The rest of the cast was also marvelous, I really liked Jason Bateman in “The Kingdom” and he did well here but Charlize Theron definitely shined the most out of the supporting cast. She and Will Smith had some expansive scenes together and made it believable.

The action scenes were very icy, mammoth special effects and seeing Hancock flying like a unique baby bird with arms and legs flinging all over was hilarious. One thing I understanding that could have been improved were the fight scenes. There were definitely a few but it was honest a lot of flying around and crashing into buildings. Had they added a bit of choreography it would have been on point for definite.
